Description
In the “Funding for Demolition and Deconstruction” program of the Hanseatic City of Stendal, owners and hereditary building rights holders of no longer used residential buildings in the Stadtsee and Süd districts receive financial support for planned deconstruction and demolition measures. Eligible for funding are natural and legal persons, including housing cooperatives, companies, or public institutions that own a property within the program’s scope or can demonstrate secured acquisition. The goal is sustainable urban renewal within the framework of the federal-state program “Growth and Sustainable Renewal” through the reduction of vacant building stock and the subsequent development of freed-up areas. Applications can be submitted at any time as long as budget funds are available.
Funding covers, among other things, planning costs, preparation costs for replacement apartments, moving costs, as well as gutting, dismantling, and demolition work up to site surface preparation and greening. Measures for securing and organizing the site, fees, inspection and approval costs, as well as decommissioning charges are also eligible. Deconstruction projects on listed buildings or buildings constructed before 1919 in street-parallel block perimeter development are not eligible for funding. The grant amounts to up to €110 per square meter of deconstructed residential area. To apply, proof of ownership or hereditary building rights, site plan, cost estimate for deconstruction and preparation measures, and a financing plan must be submitted. The Hanseatic City of Stendal reviews the funding requirements and decides based on the available budget funds.
