Description
Since 2026, the Carinthian state funding program has supported private owners and tenants in single- and two-family houses as well as terraced houses in replacing fossil heating systems. Funding is provided for connection to highly efficient local/district heating systems, central wood heating systems (wood chips, logs, pellets), and modern heat pumps. Additionally, a solar bonus can be granted when a thermal solar system with a gross collector area of at least 6 m² is installed simultaneously. The decisive criteria are that the services are rendered from January 1, 2023, the professional installation is carried out by authorized specialists, and an energy consultation report is submitted. The funding requires a completed federal funding “Boiler Replacement 2026” and is subsidiarily valid until December 31, 2028.
Funded are 30% of the gross eligible costs – up to a maximum of €3,000 per dwelling. Additionally, a solar bonus of €1,500 can be applied for. Eligible expenses include material, installation, planning costs (up to 10%), as well as dismantling and disposal costs for old systems. Self-installed services, photovoltaics for pure electricity generation, heat distribution within the building, and individual room controls are not eligible. For the application, forms, proof of “Payment of Federal Funding,” final invoices, energy consultation report, and final accounting form must be submitted via the online platform. Registration with reservation of funds takes place in advance through the Renovation Initiative; thereafter, the funding application must be submitted within nine months. The grant amount is approved and paid out directly after verification of completeness and technical feasibility.
