Description

Funding for the preparation of the update of local spatial planning concepts provides non-repayable grants to public institutions in Tyrol for the (further) updating of their local spatial planning concepts. The program focuses on urban development & urban renewal as well as infrastructure & urban development and supports municipalities as holders of private rights pursuant to § 34 Tyrolean Spatial Planning Act 2022. Funding is available from 01.01.2024 and will be granted until the budget is exhausted. Within a funding period of up to 36 months, fee expenses and incidental costs can be subsidized to make planning processes transparent and citizen-oriented. The goal is the sustainable improvement of the spatial structure through professionally sound and legally secured updates.

A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is a formal application with all required documents, including an offer from the contractor, a municipal council resolution for commissioning, a concluded contract for work, notification of all municipal citizens by mail drop, as well as a presentation in a public meeting. Furthermore, the actual costs incurred (fees/incidental costs) must be itemized along with payment receipts, and the announcement of supervisory authority approval as well as the legal validity of the update must be demonstrated. The selection process is ongoing, so funding can be applied for until the final allocation of funds. With this support, municipalities in Tyrol are enabled to develop high-quality local spatial planning concepts and thus sustainably secure and further develop forward-looking urban and settlement structures.
