Description
The funding program for renewable energy generation systems in Upper Austria aims to accelerate the expansion of climate-friendly technologies and strengthen investments in versatile generation facilities. Examples of supported systems include biomass and solar/wind energy plants as well as systems for the utilization of geothermal energy, district heating, and district cooling. Heat pumps and the associated heat distribution are also subsidized. Designed as a grant, the funding is directed at natural and legal persons – ranging from commercial enterprises and non-profit associations to religious institutions and municipalities. The primary focus is on sustainable supply with renewable energy to significantly advance climate protection and environmental friendliness in Upper Austria. Applications can be submitted year-round, allowing projects to be implemented flexibly and promptly.
Eligible expenses include all acquisition and installation costs for the aforementioned types of systems. A prerequisite is the full implementation of the project as well as the long-term use for the intended purpose for at least ten years. The processing is carried out by the Directorate for Environment and Water Management of the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government, which also serves as the central contact point and provides monitoring and laboratory services in the field of environmental surveillance. After reviewing all submitted documents, the approved funds are disbursed. Organizational transparency as well as the granting of inspection and reporting obligations guarantee the proper use of the funding.
