Description
In Upper Austria, a grant program is available that supports investments in renewable energy generation systems. Designed for a wide range of projects, it supports biomass, solar, and wind energy systems as well as geothermal and district heating connections, district cooling projects, heat pump systems, and measures for heat distribution. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing interested parties to apply at any time. As a non-repayable grant, it significantly contributes to the economic viability of projects. With the funding objective of advancing the expansion of climate-friendly technologies, the initiative is aimed at all those who rely on environmentally friendly energy supply and thus wish to contribute to energy efficiency, climate protection, and nature conservation.
Eligibility for application extends to natural and legal persons, including companies, associations, religious institutions, public organizations, and private individuals. Prerequisites include compliance with the environmental funding and general funding guidelines of the State of Upper Austria, possession of all necessary official permits, and a positive assessment by the Austrian Kommunalkredit Public Consulting. Parallel funding from other programs (e.g., agriculture, residential construction) is excluded, and there is no legal entitlement to the grant. Only the eligible investment costs for systems and their distribution networks are funded. Applications are submitted via the federal online application in combination with all official approval and authorization documents. The execution of the funded projects must be ensured for a period of at least ten years. Detailed information and further guidance on required documents can be found in the relevant guidelines of the state.
