Funding for Vehicles, Equipment, and Other Supplies - Lower Austria

The funding supports public fire departments in Lower Austria in the acquisition of vehicles, equipment, and other gear based on the Lower Austrian Fire Department Equipment Regulation and the state's funding guidelines. Structured as a grant, the program aims to sustainably improve the operational capability and safety of firefighting personnel through modern equipment. Each year, the state of Lower Austria provides substantial funds to sustainably strengthen voluntary engagement in disaster protection as well as in the areas of labor and social affairs and to optimize regional hazard prevention.

Only fire departments as public law entities with their headquarters in Lower Austria are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted continuously; approval is granted based on the respective equipment guidelines and the Fire Department Equipment Regulation. All expenses for the procurement of emergency vehicles, technical equipment, and personal gear are eligible for funding. Disbursement is made as a direct advance, with possible reclaiming of funds if the requirements are not met.
