Description
The funding for nationwide Austrian adult education institutions is aimed at educational institutions, interest groups, or other associations as well as natural persons who operate branches or member institutions as a nationwide institution in at least five federal states. As a permanent grant, funds are provided for personnel and material expenses, including costs for trainers, administrative staff, as well as material resources such as training materials, technical equipment, and room rentals. The subsidies are granted based on funding agreements with the associations of the Conference of Adult Education Austria (KEBÖ), whereby the budget is not limited and applications can be submitted at any time. The goal is to raise the educational level nationwide and ensure consistently high quality of the offerings.
For approval, a formal application must be submitted to the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, in which the purpose of the funding is precisely described. A meaningful financial plan, which clearly integrates the use of federal funds and ensures the economic viability of the project, forms the basis for the decision. The funding requirements include the employment of professionally qualified staff, the application of didactically appropriate adult education methods, as well as an open and voluntary access to the events, whereby restrictions may only be limited to necessary prior knowledge. In addition, a nationwide structure with representations in at least five federal states must be demonstrated. Before submitting the application, it must be checked whether funding has already been obtained from other federal agencies or public-law bodies, as multiple funding is permissible. After a positive review, the allocation of funds takes place as a flexible grant for personnel and material expenses, thereby contributing to the long-term improvement of the educational level in Austria.
