Funding for Carinthian Publishers

The funding for Carinthian publishers is aimed at natural and legal persons who, with their publishing program, make a significant contribution to the linguistic and cultural diversity of Carinthia. High-quality publications are supported in the fields of fiction, essays, non-fiction works on contemporary and cultural history, as well as works on visual arts, architecture, music, and design. The goal is to make regional and supra-regional cultural activities visible and to strengthen innovative literary and artistic impulses in Carinthia. Eligible recipients of the funding can be private individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations who, as publishers, sustainably further develop the cultural reality of the region.

Eligible expenses include author royalties, editing and translation costs, salary proofs for publishing staff, as well as expenses for book fairs, readings, book presentations, and other event formats. Applicants must submit a complete accounting with original invoices, payment receipts, and copies of the funded publications. The display of the funding logo “Land Kärnten Kultur” on publications and the publisher’s homepage is mandatory. Approval is granted by Department 14 – Arts and Culture in the Office of the Carinthian State Government based on the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act (K-KFördG 2001). This ensures that the state of Carinthia provides transparent subsidies that sustainably enrich the literary and cultural offerings and further consolidate Carinthia’s position as a vibrant cultural landscape.
