Description

The program for the promotion of agricultural irrigation in Tyrol supports the renovation, modernization, reactivation, as well as the new construction and expansion of systems for irrigating agricultural land in the state of Tyrol. The goal is to secure agricultural yields while ensuring economical and efficient use of available water resources. Funding is granted exclusively for measures that demonstrate a water-saving potential of at least 15% in existing systems and comply with the requirements of the current National Water Management Plan. A prerequisite for application is proof of a water meter or a suitable measuring device to transparently document actual water consumption.

Eligible for funding are natural persons and companies, particularly farmers and agricultural enterprises, who have their business location in Tyrol and wish to optimize irrigation systems on their land. The funding application must be submitted before the start of the measures and is possible until December 31, 2029. A complete application includes the filled-out "Funding Application" form, a detailed project description with plans, a list of all individual measures along with a cost overview, confirmation of hardship points from the mountain farm cadastre by the locally responsible district agricultural chamber, as well as relevant official approval notices. After completion of the funded measures, the accounting report and receipts will be reviewed to initiate the disbursement of funds – possibly in partial payments according to construction progress.
