Description
Funding for Market Launch Costs within ZIM supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) nationwide in the commercial exploitation of their research results. For approved individual R&D projects within the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM), grants of up to 50% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of EUR 50,000, are awarded. The funding covers qualified services provided by external third parties that are closely related in terms of content and timing to the R&D project. Applications can be submitted alongside the project or up to 18 months after the completion of the approved project. Requirements include, among others, meeting the criteria of experimental development, contributing the required own funds, and economically awarding contracts to external providers. A maximum of three applications per individual R&D project are possible, provided that no more than two applications have already been submitted.
Particularly funded are innovation consulting services, innovation-supporting offers such as market research, laboratory tests and certifications, trade fair appearances, as well as consulting on product design and marketing. Services provided by own personnel and contract awards made before confirmation of application receipt are not eligible for funding. For the application, among other documents, the fully completed application form, a detailed market launch concept, offers from external service providers, a declaration of SME status, a current commercial register excerpt or business registration, as well as subsequent interim reports, payment receipts, and the final proof of use must be submitted. This funding measure enables SMEs to efficiently prepare the market success of innovative products and to strategically deploy external expertise.
