Description
Funding for school classes for trips to EU institutions is aimed at Burgenland school classes from the 9th grade onwards (polytechnic schools, intermediate and higher schools) as well as corresponding student groups. The non-repayable funding supports study trips to selected institutions of the European Union and the Council of Europe in Brussels, Strasbourg, or Luxembourg. A flat rate of €150 per participating student covers travel and accommodation costs and simultaneously reduces the financial burden on the legal guardians. The aim of the initiative is to provide young people with practical insights into the workings of European politics, to make European integration tangible, and thus to sustainably strengthen the understanding of democracy.
A prerequisite for a grant is an educational concept that integrates the trip into the curriculum and emphasizes the relevance of European topics for young people; the involvement of students in the development of the concept is expressly recommended. Applications can be submitted continuously before the trip or at the latest six months after the completion of the trip. The online funding application must be accompanied by the concept, a list of participants, and a bank confirmation (if no school account is available). Payment is made after positive review of the complete documents and the associated proof of use.
