Funding for curative education institutions / daycare centers with curative education groups

The special program of the Welfare Foundation NRW supports curative education institutions and daycare centers with additional groups in North Rhine-Westphalia in their inclusive development and networking. The goal is to transform previously purely curative education sites into KiBiz-compliant daycare centers with integrative places, as well as the structural and constructional expansion of existing facilities. Funding is provided, among other things, for conversions or replacement buildings, acquisition of land, equipment measures, and barrier-free redesigns of outdoor and indoor areas. In addition, personnel cost subsidies and personnel-related material costs for specialists can be applied for. Grants of up to 80,000 euros per site are possible within a maximum project duration of 24 months. Eligible to apply are non-profit, public, and education-related sponsors based in NRW who plan a project for the inclusive redesign, expansion, or transformation of curative education groups. The application deadline is December 31, 2026.

Another focus of the program is on networking social work: In selected model projects, daycare centers cooperate with local support services to provide families in problematic situations with even more tailored assistance. Accompanying evaluation measures ensure the exchange of experience and the further development of inclusive structures throughout the state. Through these joint model projects, the participation of children with complex disabilities is to be sustainably strengthened and the transfer of knowledge between sponsors and professionals promoted. Thus, the funding makes an important contribution to strengthening inclusive educational and care services in North Rhine-Westphalia.
