Support for Needy Citizens of Bonn (J. Wilh. Tenten Foundation)

Since 1985, the J. Wilh. Tenten Foundation in Bonn has been supporting citizens in need in North Rhine-Westphalia through short-term, unbureaucratic grants. Support is provided especially to seniors, non-working individuals, and young people with acute social, health, or financial needs. Non-profit organizations and public institutions in Bonn can also receive funding. Eligible to apply are private individuals as well as non-profit and public entities residing or based in Bonn. Funding covers immediately necessary expenses such as the purchase of essential household items, care costs, or personnel expenses for local projects. Selection is ongoing based on the urgency of need, proof of hardship, and the designated use of funds. Applications can be submitted at any time; in addition to an informal application, appropriate proof of need must be attached.

With its funding, the foundation aims to sustainably relieve citizens of Bonn and stabilize their living conditions. The focus is on promoting self-help: the foundation’s work ranges from individual assistance for elderly people to support for facilities providing care for the elderly and disabled.
