Description
Companies, interest groups, associations, religious communities, as well as public institutions throughout Austria receive a financial incentive with the "Funding for Wood Heating Systems for Self-Supply (≥ 100 kW)" for the conversion or new acquisition of high-performance biomass boiler systems. The program's goal is to convert the central heat supply of own operational buildings and process energy generation to sustainable wood heating systems – such as pellet, wood chip, or log wood systems – thereby making an active contribution to climate and environmental protection. Funding is provided not only for the boiler itself but also for installation, flue gas cleaning, chimney, buffer storage, and additional heating technology. The grant can be applied for regardless of the investment amount and is available indefinitely.
For a successful application, a technical data sheet must be submitted before the start of the first legally binding order, delivery, or construction measure, and – for an investment volume exceeding 500,000 euros – a report from the credit institution is also required. The entire process is conducted online, with the funds being disbursed after positive review by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH. This program offers a straightforward and planning-secure opportunity to invest in climate-friendly heat generation and to reduce energy costs in the long term. Thus, the funding represents an important component in achieving energy-efficient and ecological corporate goals.
