Description

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, companies, municipal associations, cooperatives, foundations, and non-profit organizations have access to new financial incentives to reduce CO₂ emissions by at least 30%. The guideline, based on ERDF funds, supports investment projects and planning services that go beyond existing legal standards and enables a significant increase in energy efficiency. The focus is on feasibility and preliminary planning studies, intelligent coupling of technical components, the development of small-scale energy systems, as well as demonstration projects for innovative emission reduction technologies. Applications can be submitted continuously until December 31, 2029. The guideline thematically covers the areas of infrastructure, urban development, energy efficiency, and renewable energies.

Expenditures starting from €20,000 (from €2,000 for studies and planning) are funded with a funding rate of 30% to 70%, which can be increased in exceptional cases to close the profitability gap. A prerequisite is a payback period of at least five years as well as proof of the utilization of other funding opportunities. Recipients must be owners or authorized users of the project site, present all necessary permits, and have secured overall financing. In the selection process, the degree of emission reduction, contribution to energy efficiency, economic viability, and the innovative character of intelligent energy systems play a decisive role. The responsible body for submission and approval is the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Funding Institute (LFI), which acts as a central contact point providing technical advice and administrative support. Projects involving deep geothermal energy, electricity generation, primarily aimed at electromobility, hydrogen production, as well as the acquisition of fossil heating systems or vehicles are not eligible for funding.
