Description
Promotion of Innovative Energy Technologies in Hesse enables companies, educational institutions, public bodies, cooperatives, interest groups, associations, and foundations to implement development, pilot, and demonstration projects for the low-CO₂ transformation of the economy. The focus is on projects in the areas of renewable energies, efficient energy generation and use, energy storage, as well as grid integration. A prerequisite is the transferability of the technologies to comparable application cases. Individual projects must have a minimum funding amount of €400,000, feasibility studies at least €100,000. Eligible applicants also include universities, research and scientific institutions, as well as municipal authorities and associations of municipal authorities. Innovation content, contribution to the energy transition, and climate protection impact are central evaluation criteria.
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Eligible expenses include personnel costs based on standard unit costs, an overhead lump sum, as well as material costs. A non-binding preliminary review with the submission of a project outline to HA Hessen Agentur GmbH is recommended before submitting the full application via the WIBank customer portal. Hessen Agentur offers competent advisory services and, together with the Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen, promotes efficient approval. Submissions are continuously possible until the program ends on 31.12.2027 and open innovative paths to a climate-neutral energy future in Hesse.
