Description
In Styria, the program supports youth-relevant projects initiated by interest groups, associations, non-profit organizations, or private individuals that are associated with extracurricular child and youth work. As a grant measure, it offers multipliers a financial basis for the implementation of innovative activities in the thematic areas of children and youth as well as work & social affairs. The initiative is guided by the Styrian Youth Act and the directive of the state government on youth promotion, aiming to strengthen young people in their intellectual, emotional, ethical, physical, social, political, and cultural development. Clearly defined goals include the prevention of discrimination and the creation of positive living conditions that target equal opportunities in a child- and youth-friendly society. Quarterly submission deadlines ensure continuous application opportunities and flexible project implementation.
Funding is provided primarily for project costs, operating costs, and consulting fees for initiatives that comply with the youth promotion guidelines and are submitted before the project start. Services within the formal education system, internal organizational training and further education, as well as advertising for political or religious groups, are not eligible for funding. Selection is based on criteria such as social diversity, degree of participation, equal opportunities, networking, sustainability, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Applications require a current funding request, a total cost breakdown, a de minimis declaration, and a project description. There are no costs associated with the grant application, and the subsequent verification of use is conducted in accordance with the framework guidelines of the State of Styria. Detailed dates and deadlines for the quarterly funding rounds are announced on the website of the funding management of Department 6 Education and Society.
