Description
Funding for Municipal Regional Transport Projects in Burgenland supports the initiation and financing of innovative mobility services such as on-call buses, village buses, or dial-a-ride taxis in Burgenland municipalities. The State of Burgenland targets public institutions, interest groups, and associations with municipal sponsorship as well as legal entities with municipal participation and promotes demand-responsive transport modes that meaningfully complement the existing scheduled network. Applications can be submitted indefinitely and are granted in the form of a subsidy with a duration of up to 12 months. The objective is an ecological, demand-oriented development of rural areas aiming for the highest possible cost recovery rate, secured by a contractual agreement between the state and the project sponsor.
Eligible for funding are Burgenland municipalities, municipal associations, associations with municipal sponsorship, and legal entities with municipal participation. The funding rate amounts to 25% or 50% of uncovered operating deficits depending on classification into the demand category, capped at up to €10,000 per year (up to €30,000 for multiple municipalities). Prerequisites include alignment with the state's objectives, an operational and financing concept with a high cost recovery rate, and an ecological orientation of the project. For the application, a detailed operational concept and the application form must be submitted. An open-ended funding contract with a six-month notice period forms the basis for regular settlements and verification of original receipts.
