Description

The Dr. Werner Jackstädt Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, associations, as well as public and private educational institutions in Wuppertal with its Culture and Social Initiative, which implement projects in the fields of culture, social affairs, education, building and monument preservation, and urban infrastructure. Particular focus is placed on initiatives where public funding is insufficient and civic engagement provides the impetus. Restoration and monument conservation projects are also funded to preserve the city’s cultural heritage. Through the continuous awarding of grants via the Culture and Social Advisory Board, a dynamic funding framework is established that allows flexible responses to local needs and contributes in the long term to a vibrant social cohesion.

Eligible for funding are nonprofit organizations, associations, public institutions, and interest groups with headquarters or project locations in Wuppertal. Applications can be submitted at any time in digital form as a PDF. A meaningful project description and a detailed cost breakdown are required. Evaluation takes place in regular meetings of the Advisory Board, and if necessary, also in writing, with the decision on fund allocation made by the Foundation’s Executive Board. Through these transparent and low-threshold funding conditions, the Foundation invites local actors to realize innovative ideas for cultural and social initiatives and thus make a sustainable contribution to urban development.
