Description

The funding of media education initiatives in Vienna strengthens the digital and media literacy of young people through targeted grants. Eligible for funding are interest groups or other associations, educational institutions, as well as private individuals who implement innovative projects in the areas of training & continuing education, general education, and digitalization. Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing for flexible planning and rapid project implementation. The focus is on initiatives that can be seamlessly integrated into classroom teaching and sustainably promote young people's media competence.

Personnel and material costs are funded, provided that the proposed projects meet the requirements of the 2012 media education decree and are directly applicable in the classroom. Applicants prepare a detailed project description, a comprehensive financing plan, and – in the case of personnel cost subsidies – a standardized job description. A fully completed application form and acceptance of the General Funding Conditions complete the submission documents. The uncomplicated, anytime submission process enables associations, schools, and individuals to flexibly plan and implement media education concepts. This funding thus makes a significant contribution to deepening media education and expanding students' digital competencies.
