Funding objective
Support and strengthening of open workshops, maker spaces, and DIY initiatives through non-repayable grants for acquisitions, material and travel costs, as well as the promotion of participatory, inclusive neighborhood projects in accordance with the statutes of anstiftung.

Description
Die anstiftung supports non-profit open maker projects nationwide through the grant "Support for Open Workshops." The goal is to strengthen open workshops, maker spaces, and DIY initiatives that actively involve users in planning and implementation. Non-repayable grants are provided for equipment, machines, and tools as well as material costs for craft activities or minor construction measures. Travel subsidies for networking meetings, workshops, and conferences are also part of the funding portfolio. Special preference is given to projects by groups with experiences of marginalization as well as concepts that enable gender equality and inclusivity, thereby contributing to sustainable neighborhood development.
Eligible for funding are tax-privileged associations and public law entities with a valid exemption notice. The informal application includes a project description (maximum three DIN A4 pages), information on objectives, measures, cost and time planning, as well as the applicant’s 22-digit IBAN. Submission is possible at any time via email; a copy of the current exemption notice must be attached. Evaluation focuses particularly on the user participation concept as well as the contribution to gender equality and inclusivity. Accounting is done through brief factual reports and grant confirmations. The initiative invites continuous applications and thus supports the vibrant DIY culture in accordance with its non-profit statutes.
