Description
The funding initiative "Marginal Employment" of the State of Salzburg is aimed at regional museums in Salzburg and their non-profit legal entities with multi-year, continuous, and public operations. The goal is to strengthen the capacity for public access and, in particular, to support summer operations by covering personnel costs for marginally employed staff in areas such as cashier and entrance service, supervision, cleaning, social media, or inventory management. Eligible costs include salary (up to a maximum of €551 per month), employer contributions, and payroll accounting costs; working hours are limited to 40 hours per month. The grant covers 100% of eligible expenses. The maximum funding duration is six months, with up to three months per person possible for cashier, supervision, and cleaning services, and up to six months for social media and inventory management. Up to two employees per area of deployment can be funded per year.
Funding applications must be submitted by non-profit organizations and public institutions no later than June 30, 2026; project start is earliest July 1, 2025. The application must include the following documents: funding application form, proof of use form, written agreement on employment relationship, duration of employment and remuneration, payslip or payroll account, as well as time records with activity descriptions, signed by both employer and employee. This transparent documentation ensures that the funds are used for their intended purpose and that the regional museums can better serve their visitors during the summer season.
