Seed Funding

The seed funding supports agricultural and forestry enterprises in the city of Villach in procuring high-quality seeds and seed mixtures with an attractive subsidy. Private individuals, cooperatives, and registered agricultural associations in the Carinthian region can receive financial relief of up to 50% of the acquisition costs, with a maximum subsidy of €200. The objective of this measure is to strengthen the performance and diversity of agricultural crops and to contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas. The funding is provided within the framework of the sectoral subsidy regulations for agriculture and forestry of the city of Villach and is based on an annual budget available from January 1, 2025, until depletion.

Funding applications must be submitted in writing within three months of invoicing for purchased seeds or seed mixtures. The original invoice and proof of payment must be attached; digital submission is recommended. The subsidy decision is made based on the submitted documents—with the possibility of subsequent verification of the designation and use—and may be paid out in partial amounts. Interested enterprises benefit from a transparent process coordinated by Business Group 1 – Administrative Authorities of the city of Villach. This funding offer provides a concrete stimulus to regional agriculture to preserve existing crops and secure future yields.
