Description
With the funding of school European projects including excursions to EU institutions, the State of Salzburg supports Salzburg school classes from the 10th grade onwards in vocational compulsory, intermediate, and higher schools as well as general higher education schools. The aim is to deepen the fundamentals of European integration taught in class through practical visits to Brussels, Luxembourg, or Strasbourg, thereby promoting a holistic educational concept. Travel and accommodation costs are funded, with both a basic amount and additional increases for special measures being granted. Through the support of Europe-related projects, participants have the opportunity to experience the complex interrelations of European politics and decision-making processes on site. These impressions serve as an impetus for long-term awareness and a reliable engagement with current EU topics. Applications can be submitted continuously, as there is no deadline.
The responsibility lies with the Salzburg Regional School Board, whereby the applying school must fall under the jurisdiction of this authority. The funding is provided as a grant and is not subject to a legal entitlement; it is approved according to the available state funds. For a complete submission, a funding application, a project description, cost estimates, a list of participants, and the excursion program are required. After completion of the project, a proof of use with original receipts must be submitted to finalize the payment. In the selection process, particular importance is attached to the quality of the educational concept, the content of the preparation and follow-up, as well as transparent budget planning.
