Location

The Location Funding of the Vienna Business Agency supports companies and founders in the new establishment or expansion of production sites as well as in the establishment of headquarters in the federal capital. The goal is to sustainably strengthen Vienna as a business location and to anchor research- and development-related projects in the city. Eligible for funding are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as larger companies with an existing or planned business location in Vienna, as well as start-ups that wish to begin production in Vienna. Project costs must amount to at least €150,000 (for medium and large companies €300,000), with funding amounts ranging between €300,000 and €500,000 at a funding rate of 10% to 20%. The submission period extends from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026 with quarterly deadlines on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.

Eligible measures include construction work (new builds and renovations), purchase and renovation of building fabric, as well as architectural and planning services. Ongoing operating costs are excluded. The maximum project duration is 48 months. Evaluation is carried out by an independent jury based on defined criteria. For a complete application submission, the following documents are required: an online completed funding application with confirmation of application, de minimis declaration, the most recent valid annual financial statement or income-expenditure statement, a detailed planned cost breakdown, and construction plans. Companies can request an advance payment of up to 50% of the committed funding amount.
