Description
The funding of inter-company vocational training centers (ÜBS) enables public and non-profit organizations to further develop their educational infrastructure in a needs-oriented manner with grants of up to 65 percent. Measures for the modernization, restructuring, and equipping of workshops, classrooms, as well as construction and expansion projects with a minimum volume of 50,000 euros are supported. The transformation into technology-oriented competence centers for initial and continuing training is also supported with funding rates of up to 50 percent (structurally weak regions: up to 65 percent). Personnel and material costs incurred in the course of this development can also be considered eligible expenses. A utilization rate of at least 75 percent (in exceptional cases 50 percent) ensures the efficient use of the funded facilities.
The basis for the grant is a well-founded needs analysis with statements from the respective federal state and the responsible association. Eligible applicants are legal entities under public law, non-profit organizations under private law, as well as state guild and professional associations. The co-financing share is generally at least 25 percent (10 percent in funding areas of the regional economic structure). Ongoing application opportunities at the federal level ensure long-term planning security. The initiative strengthens the innovation and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises by creating modern learning environments and thus sustainably contributes to meeting the skilled labor demand in Germany.
