Description
The funding of administrative school assistants in Styria is aimed at Styrian municipalities as the legal school authorities of public general compulsory schools. The goal is to relieve school administrations and teachers of bureaucratic tasks through the deployment of administrative assistant staff. The funding is provided via a partial reimbursement of personnel costs: 66.67% is covered by the federal government, 50% of the remaining amount by the State of Styria, so that municipalities only have to bear one-sixth of the costs (total funding rate: 83.33%). The support extends over one school year and covers exclusively gross salary costs. Parental leave and vacation replacement payments, severance pay, or additional special payments are not funded. Applications are submitted annually through a call procedure, with deadlines communicated in advance via circular to all municipalities.
For a successful application, a fully completed application form, the funding agreement, as well as monthly reports using the gross salary and data collection sheet in Excel must be submitted. The selection of applications is based on four evaluation criteria: continued assistant personnel since the 2024/25 school year, size of the total number of students at the location, demonstrated additional administrative workload, and timely receipt of the application. A funding commitment is not legally enforceable; it depends on the availability of budgetary funds and compliance with the provisions of the AdminAss Controlling Regulation (Federal Law Gazette II No. 257/2023). The program starts with the 2023/24 school year and is established for an indefinite period.
