Description
The program for the promotion of agri-environmental and climate measures in Saxony-Anhalt is aimed at farmers as well as companies managing agriculturally used land within the federal state. Building on EU and federal funds, this initiative supports area-based measures that promote sustainable agriculture. In addition to investments in organic farming—through the introduction and maintenance of organic cultivation methods—the funding program also includes the establishment and maintenance of flowering strips and areas. Other funding areas include the extensive management of permanent grassland, specialized pruning of extensive fruit orchards, as well as voluntary nature conservation services. With a clear regional focus on Saxony-Anhalt, both environmental and climate protection aspects in agriculture are thus taken into account.
The offer is directed at farmers and their associations who, in compliance with the funding requirements, fall within the funding area of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Companies are also eligible to apply, provided the conditions—such as the exclusive management of eligible areas within the defined region and the absence of other legally mandated funding obligations—are met. Funding is provided as a grant, the amount of which varies depending on the reference size and measure. For example, in organic farming, grants are paid per hectare of arable land, grassland, vegetable cultivation, or permanent crops, while subsidized amounts per hectare are available for the establishment of flowering strips or the extensive management of permanent grassland. The funding period generally lasts 60 months, with applications required to be submitted before the start of the respective commitment period.
The funding underlines the commitment of the state of Saxony-Anhalt to promote sustainable and environmentally conscious agriculture. By combining ecological measures and climate-friendly approaches, it actively contributes to the preservation of natural resources and the development of rural areas. Interested farmers and companies thus receive financial support to implement innovative and environmentally compatible measures. The detailed funding conditions, including the specific requirements for individual measures, are intended to ensure that grants are used efficiently and achieve sustainable effects in regional agriculture. This funding program offers a forward-looking financial instrument that equally addresses the economic interests of enterprises and ecological requirements.
