Description
The state of Burgenland grants non-repayable subsidies to private owners of single- and two-family houses, terraced houses, condominiums, dormitories, and group housing in Burgenland for the installation of alternative energy systems and energy-saving measures. Funding is provided, among others, for heat pumps (ground, water, air, and hybrid heat pumps), thermal solar systems, photovoltaic-storage combinations, biomass heating systems, district heating connections, comfort ventilation systems, as well as rainwater and well water utilization systems. The aim of this initiative is to increase energy efficiency, promote the intensified use of alternative energy sources in residential buildings, and thereby make a significant contribution to climate and environmental protection. The funding rate is a flat 30% of the eligible expenses, with maximum amounts applying per measure. Purchase, installation, and material costs as well as costs for acceptance protocols and commissioning are generally eligible, while prototypes, used systems, retroactive costs, and federal hybrid or federal subsidies are excluded.
A prerequisite for funding is a primary residence in the object to be funded in Burgenland, predominantly private use (> 50% of the living area), as well as Austrian citizenship or EU/EEA equivalence. Applications can be submitted continuously as long as budget funds are available. Allocation is made according to compliance with technical guidelines, the order of application receipt, and subject to budget caps. For the application, a fully completed form, official approvals, certificates of approval, detailed invoices with proof of payment, acceptance protocols from an authorized company, as well as proof of technical requirements and primary residence in Burgenland must be submitted. This funding enables private homeowners to reduce operating costs in the long term while simultaneously making an active contribution to climate protection.
