The state of Lower Saxony promotes, pursuant to § 45c SGB XI, the development and expansion of recognized services for everyday support, the qualification of neighborhood helpers, as well as pilot projects to test new care concepts. Description

In Lower Saxony, the state supports the development and expansion of recognized services for everyday support as well as pilot projects to test new care concepts in accordance with § 45c SGB XI. As a non-repayable grant, up to 50% of eligible personnel and material costs are covered, with a maximum project duration of 60 months. Initial applications can be submitted until July 31, and continuation applications until December 31 of the previous year. Eligible for funding are public institutions, private individuals, interest groups and associations, as well as legal entities and partnerships from the fields of social affairs, health, and labor & social affairs.

The funding objective is the sustainable strengthening of local and needs-based care provision. Supported are the expansion of everyday accompaniment services (AZUA), the qualification of neighborhood helpers, professional guidance and coordination of volunteers as well as employees subject to social insurance contributions, and the scientific support of innovative pilot projects. A prerequisite for approval includes, among other things, recognition according to § 45a SGB XI (or proof of anticipated recognition), proof of personal and professional suitability (extended certificate of good conduct, first aid training, qualification certificates), as well as existing liability insurance coverage.
