Description
In Styria, a one-time, non-repayable grant supports barrier-free and elderly-friendly renovations of existing apartments and owner-occupied homes. Private individuals – both owners and tenants – receive 30% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of €30,000 per housing unit (or up to €50,000 in cases of proven disability of 80% or more). Numerous construction measures are funded, such as the removal of steps and thresholds, the installation of ramps and lifting aids, new or adapted passenger elevators, automation of doors, door widening, as well as age-appropriate outfitting of sanitary facilities. The goal is to increase living quality, improve usability safety, and prevent accidents in everyday life.
Applications can be submitted within two years from the invoice date, provided that the eligible costs amount to at least €3,000. Implementation must be carried out by commercially authorized companies and documented by invoices with proof of payment. The application must include, among other documents, the completed application form, an official land register excerpt, a current registration certificate, building permit with approved plans, photos of the relevant area, a detailed construction description, planning documents, complete invoices, the WS data sheet for cost allocation, and – if applicable – a decision from the Federal Monuments Office. After a positive review, the grant will be transferred directly to the specified account.
