Funding of Berlin Projects (Meridian Foundation)

The Meridian Foundation continuously provides financial support to non-profit Berlin-based organizations and educational institutions according to the principle of "help for self-help." Projects are funded in the areas of education and upbringing, international understanding and democratic governance, arts and culture, sports, as well as the care of people in need. The focus is on sustainable integration within the community: funded initiatives aim to enable personal achievements of participants while simultaneously strengthening social cohesion. Eligible to apply are associations, initiatives, and schools located or operating in Berlin that demonstrably pursue charitable or benevolent purposes. The foundation collaborates conceptually with project sponsors to ensure maximum impact and viability.

Submissions can be made at any time; there are no fixed deadlines. Key evaluation criteria include the concrete contribution to societal benefit, the sustainability of the project, as well as the experience and viability of the project initiative. Projects should promote self-initiative, achieve long-term effects, and create overarching added value for children, youth, and adults. The funding amount varies depending on the project scope and is granted as a direct subsidy. Interested initiatives thus receive uncomplicated and timely financial relief to implement innovative ideas in the fields of education, culture, democracy promotion, or social support, thereby making a significant contribution to the common good of Berlin.
