Description
The “Innsbruck Initiative” enables school classes from Tyrol outside the districts of Innsbruck City and Innsbruck Land to discover the state capital in a sustainable and educational manner. Eligible for funding are primary, middle, special, and special education classes as well as lower secondary classes of grammar schools from the districts of Imst, Schwaz, Kufstein, Kitzbühel, Landeck, Reutte, and Lienz. The targeted subsidy financially supports educational excursions and thereby strengthens engagement with the history, culture, and urban design of Innsbruck. This measure helps learners explore urban facilities, museums, and historical landmarks while deepening their regional connection. Through the funding, participants gain authentic on-site experiences that enrich lessons and promote cohesion within the classes.
An application can be submitted at any time before the project begins to the Department of Early Childhood Education and General Education of the State of Tyrol. There are no application fees or hidden costs. To ensure timely approval, the fully completed funding application must be received in writing before the first day of the project. Since this is an ongoing funding opportunity, no fixed submission deadlines apply; approval is granted promptly and individually. The financial support is provided as a direct grant and relieves school budgets, allowing teachers and learners to fully focus on the content design and pedagogical implementation on site.
