Description
The state of Lower Saxony supports recognized guardianship associations with non-repayable grants for personnel and material expenses to carry out the cross-sectional tasks according to § 15 BtOG. Funding is provided to non-profit organizations that coordinate their scope of activity with the local guardianship authorities and have a full-time employed manager as well as other professionally qualified staff. Up to €30,000 can be applied for per calendar year to sustainably secure and expand the quality of voluntary guardianship. Applications must be submitted annually by September 30 for the following funding year; different deadlines apply for additional funding.
The aim of the funding is to strengthen the recruitment, induction, training, and counseling of volunteer guardians, as well as the systematic information and support regarding powers of attorney and guardianship directives. Furthermore, the program promotes the formalized accompaniment and exchange of experiences among volunteers and the professional advice of authorized representatives. Eligible expenses include, in addition to personnel costs, necessary material resources. For the application submission, among other documents, the guideline for granting subsidies, the application for cross-sectional funding, an activity report with proof of use, proof of non-profit status, and a statement from the responsible guardianship authority must be attached. Recognized guardianship associations in Lower Saxony thus receive tailored support to professionally accompany and expand the voluntary guardianship landscape.
