Description

The Louis Leitz Foundation is committed nationwide to the sustainable promotion of educational, training, and employment projects that benefit disadvantaged people in Germany, Eastern Europe, and Africa. As a non-profit foundation, it particularly supports initiatives that open up new perspectives for young people and women living in poverty or after experiences of violence, as well as for refugees and migrants. Funding is provided for medium-term concepts spanning three to six years, which create measurable added value on-site through their multiplier effect and the expected developmental boost. The focus is on exemplary approaches that integrate into existing structures and can be independently continued in the long term.

Funded projects are characterized by high sustainability and a clearly defined target group orientation. Selection is based on four central evaluation criteria: sustainability, multiplier effect, developmental boost, and suitability for the addressed communities. Applications can be submitted at any time by non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public bodies, foundations, cooperatives, companies, or associations. Funding of individuals is excluded to maintain a focus on collective impact and structural anchoring. Through its grant program, the foundation initiates measures that sustainably facilitate disadvantaged people's access to education, qualification, and employment, while strengthening social cohesion.
