Description
Since 2008, the BISS Foundation has been supporting non-profit initiatives and public institutions in Bavaria with financial grants to promote educational, training, and qualification projects. The focus is on disadvantaged groups such as children, adolescents, single parents, families, refugees and migrants, as well as individuals in precarious living conditions. Projects that provide these target groups with sustainable learning and participation opportunities are funded – for example, language courses, school-based and extracurricular care services, career-oriented measures, or integrative projects within the social residential environment. Financial support often begins with the provision of learning materials and extends to accompaniment in training, qualification, and professional prospects. Previously funded measures include gardening projects at secondary schools, intercultural support groups, dance and theater workshops, or school construction projects abroad.
Applicant organizations must demonstrate that their registered office or project location is in Bavaria and must have a non-profit legal form. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis – there is no fixed deadline. After reviewing the funding requirements, the funding decision is made based on the need, target group orientation, and sustainability of the project. The non-profit orientation and innovative approaches in the fields of education, training, and qualification are paramount. Through continuous funding opportunities, long-term support of projects is ensured and managed. Thus, the funding program makes a significant contribution to reducing social inequalities and providing disadvantaged people with solid educational and integration opportunities.
