Funding requirements

Description
With the grant funding for biomass systems in combination with the use of solar energy, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports the energetic modernization of existing buildings. Included are pellet boilers (condensing and non-condensing technology), hybrid combination boilers, as well as wood chip and log wood gasification boilers, each in combination with a thermal solar system or a newly installed photovoltaic system from 4 kWp. Funding covers acquisition, professional installation, storage, and hydraulic balancing. Up to 2,000 euros can be applied for per system for condensing pellet boilers and 1,750 euros for non-condensing technology; hybrid and wood boilers are supported with up to 1,000 euros. Prerequisites include existing buildings (building application at least five years old), a water-based system with at least 30 liters/kW storage volume, and listing in the BAFA individual measures module of the BEG.
Applications are submitted exclusively online until June 30, 2027, subject to available budget funds. Eligible applicants are private individuals, condominium owners, companies of all sizes, municipal authorities, public law corporations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, cooperatives, and associations. For complete application review, the electronic form, an expert and contractor declaration, the declaration of company status, cost estimates, and the PIN code confirmation must be submitted. Once the funding approval has been issued, the measure may be commissioned; the final report with proof of use must be submitted within six months. The funding makes an important contribution to reducing fossil fuels and achieving climate protection goals in North Rhine-Westphalia.
