Description
The state funding for land reform matters in Austria supports officially approved consolidation procedures for the redesign and development of agricultural and forestry land. The goal is the sustainable improvement of the agricultural structure and the strengthening of regional structures. Funding is provided for agricultural, delivery, settlement, and land consolidation associations as well as SMEs in the forestry sector. The initiative offers up to a 65% subsidy on investment expenses and runs until June 30, 2030. Project start is possible from December 2025, and applications are continuously accepted until 2030.
Eligible costs include, among others, the construction and structural improvement of access roads, major renovations of roads, soil improvement measures such as cultivation leveling and drainage systems, land acquisition for landscape design measures, as well as surveying costs related to land consolidations and other land reform measures. Ongoing maintenance and retroactive costs are excluded. The maximum funding rate is up to 65% of the eligible total costs, depending on the measure. A prerequisite is the timely submission of the application before construction begins and the presence of all official approvals. For the application, among other documents, a completed funding application, project description, financing plan, de minimis declaration, commitment statement, list of members, permits, and planning documents must be attached. The processing is carried out by Department 10 of the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, which is also responsible for technical inquiries.
