Support for Citizen Projects (Citizen Foundation Bocholt)

The Bürgerstiftung Bocholt continuously supports citizen-initiated projects in Bocholt that create local added value. Private individuals, interest groups, associations, and non-profit organizations can apply for grants in the areas of youth and elderly care, arts and culture, monument protection and preservation, nature conservation, welfare services, as well as local heritage and customs. The goal is to strengthen voluntary engagement and the sustainable implementation of innovative initiatives that serve the common good in North Rhine-Westphalia. Projects are evaluated based on their relevance to the charitable foundation’s purpose, their benefit to the city of Bocholt, and their long-term impact. The program also supports initiatives committed to energy efficiency, climate protection, infrastructure, or rural development, thereby contributing to regional development.

Applications can be submitted at any time and require a completed participation form, a detailed project description, and a financing plan. A prerequisite for funding is that the project is located in Bocholt and has a thematic focus within the specified funding areas. An independent jury of experts and citizens reviews the funding applications according to established criteria.
