Description

As part of a structured co-financing scheme, the State of Styria provides a contribution towards the personnel co-financing of open youth facilities such as youth centers and youth spaces. One third of the eligible personnel costs amounting to €615.60 per employment hour and year is funded. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, public institutions, or associations that offer age-appropriate leisure, learning, and counseling services for adolescents and young adults aged 12 to 26 through pedagogically qualified professional staff. A prerequisite is operation according to defined quality guidelines with a minimum opening time of 15 hours per week as well as primary funding by municipalities or other public-law funding bodies.

Applications must be submitted annually by October 1 for the following year and require the submission of a fully completed funding application including the activity concept and proof of qualifications of the youth workers. Expenses for material resources, travel, or investment costs are excluded. Approval is based on evaluation criteria such as target group diversity, spatial equipment and location, extent of opening hours, cooperation and networking, youth participation, as well as alignment with the Styrian Youth Strategy. The funding aims to ensure and further develop comprehensive, high-quality open youth work. Facilities that meet these requirements can obtain early information via the funding guidelines of the specialist department and submit corresponding funding applications.
