Funding of individual projects and annual activities in the field of science

The Cultural Department of the City of Vienna (MA 7) continuously supports individual scientific projects and annual activities in the federal capital. This funding initiative is aimed at research institutions, scientific organizations, symposia, conferences, lectures, as well as event series realized in Vienna. Individual funding covers projects of various scales, while overall funding financially supports annual activities. Applications can be submitted at any time without deadline restrictions, enabling flexible project planning. The aim of the funding is to stimulate scientific exchange and sustainably strengthen innovative research projects.

Eligible applicants are legal entities, registered partnerships, and sole proprietorships based in Vienna, as well as natural persons aged 18 and over with primary residence in Vienna. For natural persons, funding within the scope of individual support is limited to a maximum of 10,000 euros. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, thereby offering project holders planning security. Special emphasis is placed on diversity, inclusion, and fair working conditions. The annual requirements and guidelines are based on the resolutions of the City Council Committee for Culture and Science (GZ 604142-2023 and GKU 624608-2023).
