Description

The Arnsberg District Government supports the expansion and operation of Family Primary School Centers in the Arnsberg administrative district (North Rhine-Westphalia) with a grant covering up to 80% of eligible expenses. The goal is to establish multiprofessional networks at primary schools that strengthen families through preventive, low-threshold, and participation-oriented services. Funding is provided for personnel costs for coordination and management positions (up to €28,800 per half position annually) as well as personnel and material expenses for specific offers (up to €8,000 per center annually). Municipal school authorities (independent and district-affiliated cities and municipalities) may continue existing centers; for new locations, a minimum of two Open All-Day Schools participating in the Startchancen program is required. The project duration is 12 months each, with 20% of the total costs to be demonstrated as own contribution.

Applications for the funding period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, can be submitted until July 31, 2026; for new Family Primary School Centers, the deadline is October 1, 2026. Evaluation criteria include quality assurance, success monitoring, and the effectiveness of measures according to the key points on upbringing and education. Required documents are the application form (Annex 1) and the proof of use (Annex 3). Approval is at the discretion of the Arnsberg District Government and depends on available budgetary funds. The funding offers municipal authorities a structured opportunity to shape primary schools as vibrant neighborhood centers and to provide supportive on-site assistance to families.
