Funding of Municipal Roads and Municipal Bridges

The funding of municipal roads and municipal bridges in Upper Austria supports public institutions in the planning, construction, renovation, and maintenance of local transport routes. A non-repayable grant is provided to cover construction costs as well as expenses for repair and maintenance work, including the elimination of damage caused by natural disasters. The funding is continuously available and offers financial relief to municipalities that are responsible for municipal roads and bridges and whose infrastructure must be restored due to flooding, storms, or other extreme events.

Eligible to apply are all municipalities based in Upper Austria that are owners or operators of the affected transport routes. Eligible costs include not only pure construction and renovation expenses but also preventive maintenance measures and the complete remediation of damage following natural disasters. Applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring a fast and unbureaucratic implementation of projects. Through this support, the State of Upper Austria contributes to increasing traffic safety, strengthening rural areas, and sustainably improving the resilience of municipal infrastructure.
