Description
The funding of (higher) student dormitories in Tyrol supports public institutions in adequately accommodating Tyrolean students in boarding schools and dormitories outside the federal state. An amount of up to €50 per funded person is available annually to alleviate expenses for rent, meals, and supervision. At the same time, those (higher) student dormitories within Tyrol that are listed in the respective state budget by the Tyrolean state parliament are also considered. The funding has been in place since 01.01.2023 and, through ongoing application opportunities, provides continuous planning security for sponsoring organizations and educational institutions. Public institutions are thus offered targeted support that sustainably enhances the learning and living environment of Tyrolean students in other federal states as well as within Tyrol.
A prerequisite for the awarding of grants is, on the one hand, proof that the (higher) student dormitory operates outside Tyrol and accommodates Tyrolean students. For institutions within Tyrol, a binding inclusion in the Tyrolean state parliament’s budget is required. The application must include a complete list of all accommodated Tyrolean participants with names and addresses. Dormitories within Tyrol must also submit the annual financial statement or an income-expenditure report for the application year. Applications, which can be submitted once annually, are accepted continuously without fixed deadlines, ensuring transparent and efficient processing within the framework of state funding.
