Description
The funding for helicopter transports to alpine pastures in Salzburg supports private individuals, companies, and associations in investments in construction and fencing materials as well as operational equipment without the need for extensive road construction. The goal is to permanently maintain the existing access via footpaths and cattle drives while simultaneously realizing economically viable alpine pasture projects. Transport costs are subsidized under the de minimis regulation with a grant rate of up to 70% of eligible costs, but no more than €10,000 per year. Applicants eligible for funding are those who manage an alpine pasture listed in the Salzburg alpine pasture register and can demonstrate proper alpine pasture management through transport by helicopter. Public authorities and their institutions are excluded from the program.
The following documents must be submitted in advance for the application: name of the alpine pasture, alpine farm operation number, and farm map including cadastral district and parcel number, a detailed project description, a cost estimate from the transport company, as well as the alpine pasture grazing list from the previous calendar year. Only transport costs incurred from the date of application submission can be considered. Upon approval, deadlines apply for submitting original invoices and proof of payment: no later than twelve months after approval or six months after completion of the transport. The funding measure runs until December 31, 2027, and applications can be submitted continuously. Through targeted financial support, alpine pasture managers in Salzburg can implement their projects more sustainably and economically without further burdening the sensitive alpine and pasture landscape network.
