Description

In the fisheries sector of Schleswig-Holstein, an attractive grant offer provides the opportunity to advance pioneering developments and sustainably strengthen knowledge transfer. Projects that implement innovations in research, development, and pilot initiatives while promoting the protection and restoration of aquatic biodiversity are supported in a targeted manner. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), educational institutions, associations, non-profit organizations, and public institutions can particularly benefit. A focus is placed on ecologically sustainable fishing techniques, energy-efficient processes, and measures to avoid bycatch. Furthermore, projects that systematically transfer research results into practice and strengthen the sector's self-organization are funded. The funding rate amounts to 100% of the eligible recognized expenses. The funds originate from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) 2021–2027.

Applications can be submitted at any time, as the program is not subject to a fixed deadline. A prerequisite for funding is compliance with the EMFAF program, assurance of overall financing, and adherence to a five-year retention period for acquired or manufactured assets. Short-lived goods, repair work, operating costs, replacement acquisitions, and used assets are excluded. Award decisions are made based on a transparent point system according to established project selection criteria, with each project required to meet a threshold value. The selection process ensures a fair distribution of currently available funds and supports innovative initiatives that make a measurable contribution to the ecological stability of Schleswig-Holstein’s inland and coastal waters.
