Description

The group funding for institutional early childhood education and care facilities in the state of Salzburg has been a continuous source of financing since January 1, 2023, aimed at securing the operation and quality of crèches, kindergartens, and after-school care centers. Public providers such as municipalities, municipal associations, and state enterprises benefit from direct subsidies, as do private, non-profit organizations. The latter even receive an additional funding amounting to 6% on top of the base funding. The funds are allocated as needed to equipment, personnel, and operating costs and contribute to maintaining and expanding comprehensive childcare places throughout Salzburg. Thanks to the informal, ongoing application process, support can be flexibly adapted to current developments and childcare needs.

Eligible applicants are all non-profit legal entities of institutional early childhood education and care facilities that meet the legal requirements of the Salzburg Early Childhood Education and Care Act. A prerequisite is unrestricted accessibility for all children regardless of origin, language, religion, or physical and mental constitution, as well as an actual childcare need according to § 52 para. 2. The provision of funds supports an inclusive educational landscape and ensures fair conditions for providers and families alike. Applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring needs-based planning and long-term operational security. Interested institutions can obtain detailed information and application documents from the Office of the Salzburg State Government.
