Description
Funding Objective and Scope
Since August 16, 2023, the state of Tyrol has been providing indefinite support to early childhood education groups that offer education, upbringing, care, and supervision of children from the first year of life until entry into kindergarten. Eligible applicants are providers from associations, public law corporations, or non-profit organizations with their own legal personality. Funding is provided as a monthly subsidy per child: up to €4 for full-day care up to 40 hours per week, €1 for hours 41–50, a 50% increase for children under 2.5 years, as well as a lunch flat rate of €40 per child. The funds are settled retrospectively twice a year based on budget availability and provide planning security for long-term care offerings.
Requirements and Deadlines
The funded child groups must have existed since November 1, 2011, be publicly accessible, and submit a risk analysis in accordance with the Tyrolean Child Education and Childcare Act. For billing, the fully completed billing form of the state must be submitted together with the current risk analysis. Submission deadlines are June 20 for the first and November 20 for the second half-year billing of a calendar year. Timely application submission is essential, as funding is calculated based on the reported attendance frequencies and may be reclaimed in case of discrepancies. This targeted funding further develops early childhood education quality standards and strengthens demand-oriented care structures throughout Tyrol.
