Funding of KlimaGebäude.NRW within KlimaQuartier.NRW

The funding program “KlimaGebäude.NRW within KlimaQuartier.NRW” supports climate-friendly new construction and existing buildings in North Rhine-Westphalia. Applicants can be private individuals, companies, municipalities, and non-profit organizations planning a renovation or new construction with a high thermal protection standard. A fixed amount of up to €3,500 per residential unit of a single-family, semi-detached, or terraced house is granted; for multi-family houses, up to €2,500. An additional bonus of €300 per residential unit and per kilogram of CO₂ saved per m² per year is possible, but a maximum of €1,500 per unit. Applications must be submitted online by June 30, 2027, via the Förderportal.NRW. Combining this funding with the federal funding for efficient buildings is permitted up to a total funding rate of 60%. The funds are granted as a non-repayable grant and must be used for the intended purpose within two months of disbursement.

Prerequisites include proof of compliance with the energy requirements according to the “KlimaGebäude.NRW” standard by authorized experts in accordance with DIN V 18599:2018-09, as well as the execution of a CO₂ calculation and airtightness measurement (n50 ≤ 1 h⁻¹). Construction drawings at a scale of 1:100 and a site plan must be submitted. Eligible costs include planning and construction services, verification (CO₂ calculation, airtightness measurement), as well as monitoring and consumption data collection. Within the framework of the state project, consumption data collection and monitoring must be carried out simultaneously. Upon positive review, applicants receive a funding approval notice authorizing the commissioning of the measure; proof of use must be submitted electronically. This program makes an important contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions and achieving high energy efficiency standards in residential buildings in NRW.
