Funding of cultural events

The program "Support for Cultural Events" in Upper Austria assists private and public sponsors, companies, associations, as well as cultural practitioners in the realization of state exhibitions, framework events, and special state exhibitions. Applications can be submitted at any time throughout the year. The objective is the monument conservation restoration, renovation, and construction of culturally and historically significant objects, as well as the conception and implementation of cultural and cultural-tourism events. Both construction measures and personnel costs, material expenses, as well as all expenditures for event planning and execution are eligible for funding.

For a grant to be awarded, compliance with the Upper Austrian cultural mission statement, the Upper Austrian Cultural Funding Act, and the General Funding Guidelines and Principles of the Department of Culture is required. A fully completed and signed funding application form, a detailed project description, a transparent cost calculation, and a coherent financing plan form the basis of the application. The expert jury evaluates projects based on the originality of the theme, reuse and sustainability, tourism impulses, regional political impact, as well as the preservation and documentation of cultural assets. Funding is provided as a direct grant and supplements existing financing sources subsidiarily. With this initiative, the State of Upper Austria contributes to strengthening the regional cultural infrastructure, revitalizing cultural tourism, and securing valuable cultural heritage, inviting interested parties to submit their ideas and projects in line with these funding criteria.
