Funding of Measures for Urban Water Management in Carinthia

The promotion of measures in municipal water management in Carinthia supports investments in the collection, conveyance, purification, and treatment of wastewater as well as in the procurement, treatment, and distribution of drinking and firefighting water. Research projects, studies, and general planning in this field are also funded. Both the pure production costs and ancillary construction costs such as planning and construction supervision fees are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted continuously, ensuring timely planning and implementation of infrastructure projects and protective measures against water pollution.

Eligible for funding are municipalities, municipal associations, water associations, and state companies, cooperatives, alpine clubs, businesses, and private individuals. A prerequisite for a grant is a complete project with water law approval as well as a written application containing all data necessary to calculate the funding amount. The start of the measure may only occur after the application has been submitted with all required documents. The application must include the funding request from the fund's resources, documents according to § 8 of the Federal Guidelines for Municipal Water Management, the water law approval, and a detailed project description with funding calculations. Disbursement is made either in a single tranche upon completion or in partial amounts corresponding to construction progress, depending on the funding model. The responsible authority for technical questions and submission is the Office of the Carinthian State Government, Department 12 – Water Management.
